Four Seasons Hotel Amman has officially received the Green Key certification, a prestigious international eco-label that recognises excellence in sustainable operations and environmental responsibility in the hospitality industry.

The certification marks a significant milestone in the hotel’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental footprint and contribute positively to the community. Green Key is awarded only to establishments that meet rigorous criteria across 13 key areas, including energy use, waste management, water conservation, sustainable food and beverage practices, and guest and staff engagement.

A Comprehensive Sustainability Standard

The Green Key programme is recognised globally, with over 7,000 certified establishments in 70 countries. In Jordan, the initiative is operated by the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) and has been in place since 2009. The programme aligns closely with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing a global vision for sustainable tourism.

To earn the certification, Four Seasons Hotel Amman demonstrated consistent performance in environmental management, CSR initiatives, staff training, and guest awareness campaigns, in addition to operational practices like efficient water and energy usage, eco-friendly cleaning protocols, and minimised waste generation.

Sustainability in Action: ‘Four Seasons for Good’

The hotel’s achievement is part of the broader ‘Four Seasons for Good’ strategy, which focuses on community support, environmental regeneration, and ethical operations. This includes initiatives aimed at protecting the natural beauty of Amman, supporting local livelihoods, and engaging guests in responsible travel habits.

“The Green Key certification is more than a symbol; it’s a commitment to being the best for the world, not just in it,” said a spokesperson for Four Seasons Hotel Amman. “We are proud to join a global network of hotels working to protect the planet and preserve the destinations where we operate.”

A Greener Future for Jordanian Hospitality

As the tourism and hospitality sectors increasingly adopt eco-conscious standards, certifications like Green Key offer travellers greater transparency and confidence when choosing accommodations that match their values. Four Seasons Hotel Amman now stands among a growing number of Jordanian establishments that are prioritising sustainable tourism as a cornerstone of long-term success.

With this certification, Four Seasons Hotel Amman continues to set a benchmark for luxury hospitality that is aligned with global environmental priorities, ensuring that its legacy of service excellence extends to the well-being of the planet and its people.
