Swiss-Belhotel International, a globally recognised hospitality management group, showcased its expanding presence across Africa at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, held in Nairobi from 1 to 3 October. As one of the continent’s leading travel trade events, MKTE provides a key platform for connecting international and regional tourism partners.
The 2025 edition once again reinforced MKTE’s reputation as a premier event for Africa’s tourism and hospitality sector, drawing representation from major destinations, hotel brands, tour operators, and investors. Swiss-Belhotel International participated with a dedicated stand supported by its Group Sales and Marketing Department, the EMEA Regional Sales Office, and representatives from its two Kenyan hotels — Nairobi Safari Club by Swiss-Belhotel and Swiss-Belinn Nairobi.
Laurent A. Voivenel, Senior Vice President – Operations & Development, EMEAI, and Senior Vice President – Group Human Resources & Talent Development, Swiss-Belhotel International, commented: “Africa remains a key focus market in our global growth strategy. Our presence at MKTE 2025 reflects our long-term commitment to this dynamic and diverse region. This platform not only allowed us to strengthen our existing partnerships but also provided the opportunity to meet numerous hotel owners and investors from across Africa who are looking for trusted international operators with proven regional expertise.”

Representing the group’s commercial leadership, Priyanka Kapoor, Group Director – Sales, Marketing, Branding and Communications, and Sr. Regional Director – EMEA Sales and Marketing, added: “This was our first time to participate at MKTE, and I was delighted by the excellent turnout. The meetings were focused, meaningful, and demonstrated the immense potential of the African market. Having our own booth was crucial in elevating brand visibility, as Africa is an important growth frontier for Swiss-Belhotel International.”
Swiss-Belhotel International made its East African debut with Swiss-Belinn Nairobi, situated in the peaceful Kileleshwa district and managed by NIBS Resort Company Limited. Following its success, the group acquired and rebranded Nairobi Safari Club under the Swiss-Belhotel portfolio. In neighbouring Tanzania, the company’s growth continues with Swiss-Belresort Zanzibar, developed in partnership with Crown Hotel and Resort Limited, and the forthcoming Swiss-Belboutique Masaki Dar es Salaam, a five-star property under development by Astra Capital Limited on the Msasani Peninsula.
The group remains committed to expanding across Africa, recognising the region’s rich blend of leisure and business travel potential. Each Swiss-Belhotel property in the continent is designed to offer authentic local experiences combined with world-class hospitality standards.
Organised annually by the Kenya Tourism Board, the Magical Kenya Travel Expo is the largest travel trade exhibition in East and Central Africa. It brings together exhibitors, buyers, and tourism stakeholders from around the globe to network, establish partnerships, and showcase the continent’s premier travel destinations.
