stc Bahrain has signed a strategic partnership with global tech giant Huawei to co-develop next-generation 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and AI-powered digital services, marking a significant milestone in Bahrain’s digital transformation journey. The agreement aims to enhance network capabilities, drive monetization, and position Bahrain as a leader in the TechCo era.

The partnership will focus on joint research and development, enterprise digital solutions, and the rollout of Mobile Private Networks (MPNs), all powered by advanced 5G and artificial intelligence technologies. Through a shared roadmap, the collaboration will enable innovation across industries and expand Bahrain’s digital ecosystem.

Eng. Khalid Al Osaimi, CEO of stc Bahrain, highlighted the importance of the alliance:

“This strategic agreement with Huawei reinforces our mission to lead Bahrain’s digital future. With Huawei’s global expertise and our local insights, we’re building the foundations for tailored, resilient, and future-ready services.”

The cooperation aligns with stc Bahrain’s broader digital strategy and Huawei’s commitment to open innovation and intelligent connectivity. The partners will explore cloud and edge computing solutions, improved spectrum utilization, and the integration of AI into network management and customer services.

Steven Yi, Senior Vice-President at Huawei, commented:

“Our partnership with stc Bahrain is rooted in a shared vision for technology-driven growth. Through 5G-A and AI, we will enable intelligent operations, smarter enterprises, and richer user experiences.”

A major focus of the agreement is empowering enterprises with customizable 5G private networks, providing reliable and secure connectivity for sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. These networks, fully managed and tailored to enterprise needs, will support real-time data processing, automation, and remote management.

In addition to enterprise solutions, the initiative also includes AI training programs aimed at cultivating local talent. These programs will prepare Bahrain’s workforce for emerging tech roles, supporting the national drive toward a knowledge-based economy.

The partnership is a significant step in advancing Bahrain’s Vision 2030, reinforcing the country’s ambition to become a regional innovation hub. By combining stc Bahrain’s market leadership with Huawei’s technology prowess, the collaboration sets the stage for next-gen digital services that are faster, smarter, and more adaptable.

As 5G-A and AI continue to redefine global ICT standards, this agreement ensures Bahrain remains at the forefront of digital advancement—offering future-proof connectivity and unlocking new revenue opportunities across both the public and private sectors.
