Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced the official rollout of One UI 8, its latest software experience, introducing advanced multimodal AI, enhanced security features, and a UX optimized across smartphones, tablets, and foldables. The update begins this week with the Galaxy S25 series, before extending to the Galaxy S24 lineup, Z Fold6, Z Flip6, S24 FE, and other eligible models later this year.

Personalized AI With Stronger Protection

At the core of One UI 8 is a personalized, proactive system that anticipates user needs while safeguarding private data.

  • Now Bar brings real-time updates from apps and media directly to the Z Flip’s FlexWindow.
  • Now Brief delivers tailored daily summaries, from traffic and reminders to health insights synced with Galaxy Watch.
  • Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) creates secure, app-specific storage for sensitive information.
  • Knox Matrix adds device-wide monitoring, automatically logging out accounts at risk.
  • Upgraded Secure Wi-Fi introduces post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to protect users on public networks.

Smarter Multimodal AI

One UI 8 introduces AI that understands visual, auditory, and contextual cues, making tasks more intuitive.

  • Gemini Live enables natural communication with AI that interprets what users see in real-time.
  • Circle to Search with Google now provides live gaming help and real-time translations directly on-screen.
  • Call Captions instantly transcribes voices into text during calls, while Interpreter supports seamless typed translations.

Optimized for Every Device

Samsung has also redesigned the UX for greater flexibility across form factors.

  • AI Results View offers Split View or Floating View to keep original content visible.
  • Multi Window on tablets allows drag-and-drop of AI-generated text and visuals into workflows.
  • Gemini Live on FlexWindow brings voice search to the cover screen.
  • Audio Eraser removes unwanted background noise in calls and videos.
  • New adaptive clock designs and wallpapers enhance customization, including FlexWindow emoji wallpapers.

One UI 8 also debuts creative features like Portrait Studio for AI-generated pet portraits and Drawing Assist for smoother design workflows.

Samsung said the upgrade reflects its mission to combine “advanced technology with human empathy,” making devices more intelligent while ensuring privacy and security remain central.
