Ooredoo has confirmed its role as the Digital Innovation Partner at COMEX 2025, Oman’s largest technology and digital transformation exhibition. The event, which runs from 8 to 11 September at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Center, will see the telecom giant highlight its vision for enabling the Sultanate’s digital future in line with Oman Vision 2040.

This year’s participation holds particular significance as it marks the company’s first major public showcase under its new leadership. Earlier in 2025, Ooredoo appointed Saoud Al Riyami as its first Omani Chief Executive Officer, signaling a new chapter in the company’s growth.

With over two decades of experience in ICT solutions, business sales and wholesale operations, Al Riyami has pledged to reinforce Ooredoo’s central role in accelerating Oman’s digital economy.

“I am honored to lead Ooredoo at a time when digital transformation is accelerating across the Sultanate,” Al Riyami said. “Our role as Digital Innovation Partner at COMEX reflects our deep commitment to empowering Oman’s digital ecosystem. Through transformative initiatives, we are enhancing digital experiences, enabling innovation, and supporting the Sultanate’s journey toward a smarter, more inclusive economy.”

A year of transformation

Ooredoo has recently advanced several key initiatives in its digital transformation programme. Among the most prominent is the launch of Walletii, a next-generation mobile wallet application. Combining remittance services, chat-based payments and loyalty rewards, Walletii has been hailed as a significant step forward in digitising everyday financial transactions in Oman.

The company has also overhauled core systems including billing, charging and customer relationship management (CRM), enabling faster, real-time interactions with customers. These changes, Ooredoo says, are aimed at improving user experiences and building a stronger digital services framework.

Global technology partnerships

Ooredoo has strengthened its partnerships with global technology leaders to broaden Oman’s access to advanced digital solutions. Its collaboration with Google Cloud is designed to create opportunities for developers and enterprises, fostering a more competitive innovation ecosystem.

Meanwhile, a partnership with Nvidia will see Ooredoo equip its data centres with GPU and AI-ready infrastructure. This is expected to provide businesses across the Sultanate with the tools needed to harness artificial intelligence and cloud computing effectively.

COMEX 2025 showcase

At COMEX 2025, Ooredoo plans to present its latest portfolio of digital products and services, ranging from cloud and AI solutions to next-generation customer applications. The exhibition, now a cornerstone of Oman’s annual technology calendar, is expected to draw policymakers, businesses and innovators from across the region.

By aligning its strategy with Vision 2040 and maintaining its community-oriented approach, Ooredoo is positioning itself not only as a telecom operator but also as a key enabler of Oman’s digital transformation.
