Azizi Developments backs seventh Dubai Racing Carnival fixture at Meydan

Azizi Developments, a major private property developer in the UAE, sponsored the seventh meeting of the Dubai Racing Carnival on Friday, 16 January, at Meydan Racecourse. The company supported all eight races on the card. This marks another milestone in Azizi’s nine-year partnership with the Dubai Racing Club. The sponsorship also reflects Azizi’s strong presence in MBR City, where it is developing a large master-planned community in Meydan.

The main race of the evening was the G2 Cape Verdi, one of the leading races for fillies and mares on the Carnival calendar. Last year, the race was won by Choisya. Another key contest was the Vazirabad Handicap, a tough 2,410-metre race named after the three-time G2 Dubai Gold Cup winner. On the dirt track, attention focused on the Cocoa Beach Stakes, where three-year-old fillies competed over 1,600 metres. Together, these races added strength and variety to the full eight-race programme at Meydan.

Mr. Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of Azizi Group, said: “Our continued support of the Dubai Racing Carnival reflects our long-standing partnership with the Dubai Racing Club and our respect for a sport that holds deep cultural significance in the UAE. Equestrian excellence is an integral part of the nation’s heritage, and this platform brings together communities, athletes, and audiences from around the world. Through our involvement, we are proud to contribute to an event that reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for sport, culture, and world-class experiences.”

His Excellency Ali Al Ali, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Racing Club, welcomed Azizi’s involvement, saying: “We looked forward to welcoming the Azizi team back to Meydan Racecourse on Friday for an exciting evening of racing, headlined by the G2 Cape Verdi – one of our most significant races for fillies and mares.”

He added: “Azizi have been important partners with Dubai Racing Club for several seasons, also sponsoring the G1 Azizi Developments Al Quoz Sprint at the Dubai World Cup meeting. We thank them once again for their support.”

Riviera forms part of Azizi Developments’ award-winning portfolio. The waterfront destination includes 75 mid- and high-rise buildings with around 16,000 homes.

The project draws inspiration from the French-Mediterranean lifestyle. This approach focuses on design and quality of life, centred on the idea of ‘joie de vivre’ or enjoyment of living. Riviera blends residential and commercial spaces and offers a wide range of retail outlets.

The development includes three main districts. These are a long retail boulevard, a lagoon walk along a 2.7-kilometre crystal lagoon with cafés and boutiques, and Les Jardins, a large green space for community use.

Located close to the upcoming Meydan One Mall and Meydan Racecourse, which hosts the Dubai World Cup, Riviera sits near many of Dubai’s key landmarks. This prime position makes it one of Azizi Developments’ most sought-after projects.
