The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has issued a recall for three dietary supplements and one medical productin the UAE, citing safety concerns and lack of regulatory approval. Authorities warned consumers against buying or using the products while distributors withdraw affected batches.
The products under recall are Super Immune+, WoundVite, Rosabella Moringa Capsule, and Isotonac‑4. The EDE confirmed that none of these items were imported with its authorization, making their sale in the UAE illegal. The agency said the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen consumer safety and oversight of dietary supplements and medical products in the country.
“These products have not been registered with the EDE and could pose health risks,” the authority said in its circulars. Experts have previously noted that unregulated supplements, including moringa-based capsules, may carry contamination risks or undisclosed ingredients that could harm users.
The recall highlights broader concerns over the growing popularity of food supplements and medical productspurchased online or through informal channels, which may bypass regulatory checks. As the UAE’s health market expands, authorities are increasingly monitoring imports, enforcing approvals, and ensuring that international products comply with local safety standards.
Industry observers say these recalls are significant because they protect the UAE’s pharmaceutical and wellness sectorfrom potential reputational and public health risks. They also remind consumers to verify that products bear official approval before purchase.
The EDE has instructed suppliers to remove the recalled products from shelves and online platforms immediately. Consumers are advised to report any adverse effects if they have already used the products. The regulator continues to monitor the market and will take further action if additional unauthorized products are detected.
