More than 106,000 people flocked to the Moskino Film Factory between 29 August and 14 September for Portal 2030–2050, billed as the world’s largest electronic music festival.

The free event featured 110 DJs from 13 countries, including Willy William, Edward Maya, Yves Larock, Burak Yeter, Sak Noel, Legroni, and Alex Gaudino. Over 240 hours of music played across three stages, alongside 150 cultural and digital art activities.

Italian DJ Alex Gaudino premiered his new single Funky Beat on 14 September in collaboration with Dynoro and Chuck D of Public Enemy, coinciding with Moscow City Day celebrations.

A highlight was the digital art competition “CONTEST. MEDIA-ART”, showcasing 3D mapping and VJing, with six Russian artists winning top honors. Visual direction was led by John Dave, known for multimedia work at festivals like AFTERLIFE and Soundstorm.

The opening weekend spotlighted K-pop culture, featuring Song Won Sub, Kazakh band Nomads, and Russia’s CAGMO symphony orchestra. More than 50 teams competed in the Moscow K-POP Cover Dance Cup, judged by choreographer Seongchan, who has worked with BTS and BLACKPINK.

The festival’s symbol — a 14-metre-tall cosmonaut — celebrated Moscow’s spirit of exploration and ambition.

Organisers said the event underscores the capital’s role as a global cultural hub, blending electronic music, digital art, and youth culture to boost event tourism and international visibility.
