Huawei launches MatePad 11.5 in Kuwait

Huawei has officially introduced its MatePad 11.5 tablet in Kuwait, expanding access to the brand’s PaperMatte display technology at a more affordable price point. Retailing from KWD 109.9, the device is now available through Huawei’s online platforms and authorised retailers.

The MatePad 11.5 is being positioned as a versatile tool for both students and professionals. With its blend of performance, productivity features, and immersive display, Huawei is marketing the tablet as ideal for university use, project collaboration, and everyday media consumption.

At the centre of the device is an 11.5-inch PaperMatte display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is designed to replicate the comfort of reading from paper, reducing glare and eye strain. Huawei has deployed nano-level anti-glare etching, a technique that creates hundreds of millions of microscopic textures across the display. This reportedly eliminates up to 99% of light interference, ensuring clarity even under bright lighting.

For those who use a stylus, the texture of the display is said to enhance the feel of writing and sketching, creating a more natural experience when paired with Huawei’s M-Pencil. The inclusion of Magnetron Nano Optical Coating, usually reserved for premium tablets and laptops, further reduces reflections and strengthens the viewing quality.

One of the core productivity features is the upgraded Huawei Notes application. It offers handwriting enhancement powered by AI, enabling users to convert handwritten content into typed text in their chosen font and size. A resource centre provides custom note covers, paper templates and stickers, allowing greater personalisation.

The MatePad 11.5 also provides entry into Huawei’s GoPaint app, which is targeted at both professionals and hobbyists. Designed to be intuitive but powerful, the app aims to give users an accessible platform for digital painting and creative expression.

Battery life is another highlight, with the device housing a 10,100mAh unit. Huawei claims it supports up to 14 hours of continuous video playback. When charging is needed, the 40W SuperCharge technology can restore full capacity in just under 95 minutes.

For students and working professionals, the MatePad 11.5 offers PC-level WPS Office software with an interface similar to its desktop counterpart. Spreadsheets, presentations and formulas are designed to deliver a seamless transition from PC to tablet, reducing friction in workflows.

Performance is supported by advanced thermal management, which Huawei says ensures smooth multitasking across productivity, gaming and entertainment.

By bringing PaperMatte display technology to a wider audience, Huawei is aiming to compete more aggressively in the mid-tier tablet market. With a starting price that places it below many premium competitors, the MatePad 11.5 is being pitched as a value proposition that does not compromise on display quality or productivity.

The launch also underscores Huawei’s strategy of localising product availability across the Gulf region. With the MatePad 11.5, the company is targeting Kuwait’s growing demand for hybrid learning and remote work solutions, alongside consumers seeking entertainment and creative tools in a single device.
