Dubai Customs hosted a high-level delegation from the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation – Umm Al Quwain, led by Sheikh Mansour bin Ibrahim Al-Mualla, Executive Director of the Corporation, in a meeting aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation and institutional partnership between the two entities.

The official visit was welcomed by His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, alongside several senior department executives. The two sides discussed key areas of joint collaboration, with a particular focus on sharing pioneering customs practices and enhancing the integration of services.

Dr. Busenad praised the visit, describing it as a reflection of the UAE’s broader vision of unity across local and federal institutions.

“Customs work today is no longer confined to operational procedures — it is an integrated system built on digital transformation, innovation, and strategic leadership,” he said.
“This meeting underscores the importance of aligning efforts to build an advanced institutional model that reflects our national ambitions.”

During the discussions, the Dubai Customs team highlighted its latest advancements in customs inspection, risk management, and data analytics. These technologies form the backbone of the department’s future-facing approach to managing cross-border trade and ensuring efficient, secure processes.

Both sides exchanged insights into best practices and explored mechanisms for cooperation, with a shared interest in enhancing institutional performance, boosting operational readiness, and improving overall service quality. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of continued knowledge exchange and integration between local customs authorities to raise the UAE’s global competitiveness in logistics and trade.

“The UAE is emerging as a global hub for logistics and entrepreneurship,” said Dr. Busenad. “Our customs systems must evolve accordingly, fostering an environment that supports startups, accelerates trade, and meets future challenges with innovation and adaptability.”

The meeting concluded with mutual appreciation and an affirmed commitment to ongoing dialogue and collaboration. Both Dubai Customs and the UAQ Ports Corporation expressed optimism about future joint initiatives aimed at supporting the national economy and realizing the ambitions of the UAE’s wise leadership.

The visit is part of a broader strategy by Dubai Customs to promote inter-agency cooperation, develop institutional capacity, and expand its role in facilitating trade and customs excellence at both the national and regional levels.
