At Tech World Shanghai 2025, Lenovo pulled the curtain back on its most advanced gaming laptop to date — the Lenovo Legion 9i (18”, 10) — engineered for both hardcore gamers and game developers seeking elite performance, AI-powered support, and immersive visual capabilities.

Described by Lenovo as a device that “sets a new standard”, the Legion 9i integrates next-gen technologies to meet the growing demands of modern gaming and real-time 3D content creation. With an 18” PureSight display supporting up to 4K in 2D and optional 2K 3D support — without the need for glasses — the device is as much a studio tool as it is a high-end gaming rig.

“Built with top-tier hardware and next-generation AI software innovations, it combines exceptional speed and intelligence — not just for immersive gaming, but also to empower developers, designers, and creators,” said Jun Ouyang, SVP at Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group.

Key highlights of the Legion 9i (18”) include:

  • Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 275HX processor and up to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 GPU, capable of 280W combined load.
  • Support for up to 192GB DDR5 RAM and 8TB SSD across four slots.
  • An AI-enhanced engine (Lenovo AI Core + AI Engine+) that adapts performance for gaming or rendering.
  • A Coldfront Vapor thermal system with four fans and multiple chambers for silent cooling even at peak loads.

Designed with creators in mind, the laptop offers Dual Mode display for either 240Hz at 4K or up to 440Hz at FHD, making it ideal for both fast-twitch gaming and visual work. Paired with Lenovo’s updated Legion Space software, users can benefit from features like Game Coach and Clip Master, plus RGB syncing to in-game audio for added immersion.

The device also introduces a striking Forged Carbon lid, making each unit visually unique, and includes rear and side I/O options including dual Thunderbolt 5 ports.

Launching alongside it is the Legion 18” Armored Backpack II, designed with EVA shielding and gamer-specific compartments for peripherals and protection on the move.

The Lenovo Legion 9i (18”) will be available starting June 2025 in select markets at €4,499, with a North America launch slated for Q4 2025. The device includes three months of PC Game Pass and is eligible for Lenovo CO₂ Offset Services, allowing users to offset lifecycle emissions via third-party verified climate action projects.

Whether you’re creating the next hit title or gunning for leaderboard glory, the Lenovo Legion 9i (18”) promises to be your ultimate companion.
