School children got a colourful lesson in environmental awareness and recycling with the help of the popular cartoon series, Khadra and Soudeh.

The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi (CWM) distributed 30,000 copies of the cartoons in schools around the emirate, with 5,000 copies distributed to schools in the Western Region, 10,000 in Al Ain and 15,000 in the capital. The cartoons explained about the health dangers of open dumpsters and the importance of segregating waste, according to recycling practices.

“CWM reiterates the importance of saving the environment of the UAE through this series, and as a highly media-aware generation, we are confident our young target audience will connect with this message,” said Engineer Hani Hosni, strategy and business development acting executive director at CWM.
