Tennis legends will be making their way to the capital next year to take part in a novel exhibition tournament.

The first edition of Tennis at the Palace will see Grand Slam legends come to Emirates Palace to play the sport that made them famous.

From the 12th to 14th March 2015, some of the game’s greats including Richard Krajicek, Pat Cash and Younes El Aynaoui will don their sweatbands once more for this inaugural three-day garden party event.

Aside from great tennis, guests will experience a quintessentially British garden party, with afternoon tea, outstanding cuisine and, of course, strawberries and cream.

Vicky Collins, Tournament Director of Tennis at The Palace, said: “Tennis at The Palace will be a thrilling event where guests will be entertained by superb players on and off the court. With the grandstand and guest seats designed to keep everyone close to the action, Tennis at The Palace will exude an intimate atmosphere that will allow the players’ personalities to shine through.”

Twilight Tennis opens the tournament on Thursday 12th March from 6pm onwards. Over Friday and Saturday, the event will take place between 1pm and 6pm, with the Player Party starting at 6.30pm.

Wimbledon Men’s 1996 Singles Champion Richard Krajicek said: “I’m looking forward to playing in Abu Dhabi in the beautiful surroundings of Emirates Palace at Tennis at The Palace. Playing on grass is great fun and I will be joined by other great names of the game. Entertaining on the court is what we love to do and we hope you enjoy it!”
