Footy fans will be lacing up their boots this March at a charity football event organised by a local dentist.

On 20th March, Dr Firas Dental & Orthodontic Center behind Marina Mall will host a seven-a-side football tournament to raise funds for charity.

Dr Firas’ Family Football Fun Day will see adult players and spectators enjoy a friendly match and family entertainment at Zayed Sports City.

Dr Firas Hussein Jouma, owner of the dental clinic, organised the event and is committed to donating the funds from the day directly to UAE Red Crescent.

Dr Firas told Abu Dhabi Week: “ I feel blessed and extremely fortunate that my family and I live in comfortable surroundings. Unfortunately many others do not have that luxury and it’s time we worked as a community to give back and share the responsibility to help others.

“Corporations and organisations can take part and have their own advertising at the event,” added Dr Firas.

Squads of ten players are being encouraged to sign up for the competition, which takes place from 2pm to 8pm.

There are three entrance fees. AED 2,000 includes entrance to the tournament and a football kit for your team; AED 5,000 also includes advertising banners, your company logo on your kit and in all written material that’s distributed before the event; and AED 10,000, which includes all of the above and your own company stand.

On the day, there will be activities for the family including a bouncy castle, face painting and a live DJ.
