New Galaxy Watch Adds Health & Wellness Tools

Samsung has unveiled a range of new health-focused features in its upcoming Galaxy Watch, aimed at helping users build healthier habits in sleep, heart health, fitness, and nutrition. Part of the One UI 8 Watch update, these tools are designed to offer meaningful, real-time insights for lasting lifestyle improvements.

Starting this month, select users will gain beta access to the new features before their full rollout on the next Galaxy Watch series.

Empowering Small Changes with Big Impact

Samsung emphasizes that the path to better health is paved with incremental behavior shifts, and the new watch features aim to motivate and guide users on that journey. Rather than waiting for long-term results, users will receive instant feedback on changes like sleep patterns, vascular health, and nutritional choices — reinforcing positive behaviors in real time.

“We envision our Galaxy Watch delivering holistic insights centered around sleep — insights that lead to meaningful changes in daily life,” said Dr. Hon Pak, SVP and Head of Samsung’s Digital Health Team.

Key New Features in Focus

💤 Bedtime Guidance

This new feature suggests personalized sleep schedules based on circadian rhythms and recent sleep history. By analyzing the last three nights of sleep, it calculates the optimal bedtime to enhance next-day alertness and sends reminders to help users stick to it. It’s especially useful for users with inconsistent routines.

❤️ Vascular Load

A first-of-its-kind feature that measures stress on your vascular system while you sleep, using the Galaxy Watch’s health sensors. High stress levels during sleep may signal risks to cardiovascular health. The tool also connects these insights to lifestyle factors like activity and stress, helping users adjust accordingly.

🏃 Running Coach

Designed for runners of all levels, this AI-powered coach creates personalized training plans based on a 12-minute run. It assesses fitness from levels 1–10 and helps users safely train for 5Ks, marathons, and more. Real-time guidance helps prevent injury and improve endurance, making running more structured and sustainable.

🥕 Antioxidant Index

An industry-first innovation, the Galaxy Watch can now measure carotenoids — antioxidants stored in your skin — in just five seconds. This allows users to track the effects of diet (like drinking carrot juice) on antioxidant levels, encouraging long-term dietary improvements and healthier aging.

A Holistic Health Companion

By combining smart insights with behavioral feedback, Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch features offer more than just metrics — they encourage change. Whether it’s better sleep, smarter training, or improved nutrition, the Galaxy Watch becomes a daily coach, not just a fitness tracker.

The new features further strengthen Samsung’s position in digital health innovation, offering tools that bring health goals closer with every small, trackable step.
