Ooredoo Launches Third Phase of Goodwill Journey 2025

Ooredoo has officially launched the third phase of its 2025 Goodwill Journey, the company’s flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, reaffirming its dedication to uplifting communities and driving sustainable impact across the Sultanate. Now in its 21st year, the initiative has become a national symbol of care, empowerment, and long-term commitment to social progress.

The convoy departed from Muscat on 29 September, embarking on a route that connects towns and villages, particularly in remote and rural areas. This year’s journey integrates themes of sustainability, environmental innovation, women’s empowerment, and inclusion, combining immediate community support with initiatives designed to have long-lasting impact.

Inspiring sustainable practices

The journey’s first stop is Wilayat Al Amerat, where Ooredoo is introducing the Save & Sustain Green Ambassador programme. The project focuses on promoting recycling within schools and equipping students with knowledge and tools to practice sustainable living. By engaging children directly, the programme aims to foster a culture of environmental responsibility that can ripple through households and wider communities.

Empowering women entrepreneurs

From Al Amerat, the convoy moves to the Omani Women’s Association in Bahla, where Ooredoo will launch the Home Hydroponic Farming Project. This initiative, which won first place at the 7th Ooredoo Omani Women’s Forum, is designed to empower women by providing them with innovative farming tools and training. It allows participants to grow fresh produce at home while promoting water efficiency and food security.

Supporting local families and inclusion

In the evening, the team will visit Nizwa Souq, where they plan to support a low-income family by purchasing and promoting their handcrafted products. This initiative goes beyond financial aid by offering visibility and marketing support to help families expand their economic opportunities.

Also in Nizwa, Ooredoo will visit the Al Wafa Center for Rehabilitation of People with Disabilities. Here, volunteers will donate prosthetic devices to enhance daily living for beneficiaries. They will also revisit the sensory room that Ooredoo originally established during the pandemic, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for children with special needs.

Innovation for environmental protection

The final stop will be in Wilayat Ibra, where Ooredoo, in partnership with the Governor’s office, will introduce innovative drone technology for environmental applications. These drones are expected to strengthen local capacity in monitoring and protecting natural resources, underlining Ooredoo’s commitment to marrying digital innovation with environmental care.

A legacy of empowerment

Over more than two decades, the Goodwill Journey has evolved from a charitable campaign into a comprehensive movement for sustainability and empowerment. It continues to represent Ooredoo’s belief that “real progress happens when people and communities thrive together.” By focusing on inclusivity, innovation, and long-term impact, the initiative sets an example of how businesses can actively contribute to national development goals.

As the convoy travels across Oman, Ooredoo invites the public to follow the journey and learn more at www.ooredoo.om/goodwill-journey.
