Lenovo has announced a multi-year partnership with Gruppo CRG, one of the most prominent names in international karting, in a deal that will see the technology giant become both the group’s Technology Partner and the Title Sponsor of the newly named Lenovo Kalì Kart Team.

The collaboration aims to enhance CRG’s technical capabilities through advanced telemetry, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, while also streamlining kart production at its Italian headquarters. The agreement is designed to set new standards of performance on global karting circuits, supporting both engineering innovation and the development of emerging drivers.

Founded in 1960 in Lonato del Garda, Kalì Kart has been part of Gruppo CRG since 1986. The brand is steeped in history, having contributed to 27 World Titles, 26 international titles and multiple national championship victories. Its alumni include motorsport greats such as Michael Schumacher, Alex Zanardi, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

Marco Angeletti, Marketing Director at Gruppo CRG, said the partnership would provide strategic resources to the next generation of drivers.
“With Lenovo’s support, we will greatly enhance the quality of our design and production processes by leveraging the most advanced AI tools. We’ve already begun integrating Lenovo’s technology, with impressive results in simulations and data analysis both on track and remotely.”

The deal will see Lenovo supply a wide range of infrastructure and devices, including AI-ready servers, high-performance workstations, and Motorola smartphones. These will be used across operations from aerodynamic modelling and vehicle design to real-time data analysis and remote collaboration.

A major focus of the partnership will be nurturing young talent. The Lenovo Kart Academy will provide a structured programme for promising drivers under 16, offering training in physical and mental preparation through partnerships with organisations such as Formula Medicine. Participants will also receive coaching, management support, and tailored marketing exposure designed to prepare them for careers in professional motorsport, including potential progression to Formula 1.

Alberto Spinelli, EMEA Chief Marketing Officer at Lenovo, said: “Motorsports are the perfect testing ground for our technology, pushing it to the limit in demanding environments. This partnership allows us to showcase how innovation can improve performance and also contribute to the growth of the next generation of drivers.”

The partnership is also set to expand into education. Lenovo and CRG will explore opportunities to create new STEM initiatives for students globally, drawing on data and insights from the karting team to inspire future engineers and drivers.

Lenovo branding will feature prominently across karts, racing suits, helmets, and team apparel, as well as hospitality facilities and digital platforms.

The newly branded Lenovo Kalì Kart Team will make its debut at the FIA Karting World Cup in Cremona, Italy, on 28 September. The event will mark the first appearance of the partnership on track, ushering in a new era for one of karting’s most successful and storied teams.
