The InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has announced an exclusive package for travellers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), aiming to attract families, couples, and groups looking for an island escape before the year ends.

The promotion, available for bookings until 23 December 2025, includes complimentary Half Board dining, Club InterContinental privileges, and free stays for children. Extended visits bring added benefits, such as resort credits and discounted seaplane transfers, making the offer particularly attractive for National Day holidays and winter getaways.

Luxury with convenience
Located on the Raa Atoll, the resort is accessible via a short international flight followed by a 35-minute seaplane journey from Velana International Airport. Guests are welcomed into the InterContinental’s private lounge before boarding, with those staying four nights or longer entitled to a 30% discount on transfers.

The property provides Arabic-speaking staff, an Island Curator, and a 24-hour e-Curator service to cater to the needs of GCC visitors. Villas and residences are designed to accommodate different types of travellers: couples may opt for a Sunset Overwater Pool Villa, while larger families and groups can choose a Three-Bedroom Lagoon Pool Residence. Each comes with private pools and Byredo amenities.

Food and leisure highlights
Daily breakfast is served at Café Umi, where guests can dine with their feet in the sand. A wide choice of complimentary non-motorised water sports—such as catamaran sailing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddling—are on offer, while children can join the Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club for games, crafts, and mini expeditions.

Club InterContinental members receive daily refreshments and activities. Guests can enjoy poolside beverages from late morning, afternoon tea between 3pm and 5pm, and evening aperitifs served with ocean views from 5pm to 7pm.

Dining options extend into the evening with a choice of restaurants included under the package. The Fish Market highlights fresh seafood, while The Lighthouse provides panoramic views of the island and the surrounding Indian Ocean.

Added value for longer stays
Travellers staying four nights or more are eligible for a 30% discount on meal plans, further reducing the cost of gourmet dining during their visit. Direct bookings of seven nights or longer also include USD 50 in daily resort credit, which can be used for new activities or treatments at the AVI Spa.

Positioning the Maldives for GCC travellers
The Maldives has long been a popular destination for Gulf visitors, with its proximity and direct connections from major GCC hubs offering a convenient tropical retreat. By tailoring packages to families and offering Arabic-speaking staff, the InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort aims to strengthen its appeal to this market segment.

With its blend of luxury, family-friendly amenities, and value-driven offers, the resort’s new package represents an opportunity for GCC travellers to curate a personalised island experience while taking advantage of seasonal savings.
