Etihad Airways has announced the launch of seasonal summer flights to Palma de Mallorca, expanding its European network with direct service to Spain’s celebrated Balearic Islands. The new route, beginning 12 June 2026, marks the airline’s 29th new destination and establishes the only direct connection between Asia and Palma de Mallorca.

The flights, operating three times a week until mid-September 2026, will give travelers from Abu Dhabi and beyond seamless access to one of Europe’s most iconic island escapes, as well as Ibiza and the wider Balearics.

Luxury on Board with the A321LR
The route will be operated by Etihad’s newly introduced Airbus A321LR aircraft, which delivers widebody comfort in a single-aisle jet. The aircraft is fitted with three cabins designed to elevate passenger experience:

  • First Class: Two enclosed suites with sliding doors, lie-flat beds, fine dining, and luxury amenities.
  • Business Class: Fully lie-flat seats arranged in an exclusive 1-1 herringbone layout, providing every traveler with direct aisle access and a private, window-facing experience.
  • Economy Class: Modern seating with generous legroom, quiet cabins, and personal entertainment screens for each passenger.

High-speed Wi-Fi, wireless charging, and Bluetooth connectivity are available across all cabins, ensuring a seamless inflight experience.

A Gateway to the Balearics
Known for its blend of cosmopolitan flair and Mediterranean charm, Palma de Mallorca offers a diverse array of experiences. Travelers can explore the Gothic beauty of La Seu Cathedral, stroll through the narrow streets of the old town, or retreat to luxury resorts along the coast. The island also serves as the perfect springboard to Ibiza, Menorca, and Formentera.

“Palma de Mallorca is the perfect addition to our summer schedule,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways. “From marinas and lively nightlife to secluded coves and historic towns, Mallorca has something for every traveler. We can’t wait to connect our guests from Abu Dhabi and across our network to this Balearic gem – the ultimate summer escape aboard our new A321LR.”

Strengthening European Connectivity
The launch underscores Etihad’s commitment to expanding its network and enhancing connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Europe. With 29 new destinations added in recent months, Etihad is positioning itself as a global carrier bridging key leisure and business markets.

Palma’s growing popularity among international travelers makes it a strategic choice for seasonal operations. In addition to leisure traffic, the route will also cater to premium travelers seeking bespoke experiences in one of Europe’s most exclusive summer destinations.

Flight Schedule
From 12 June to mid-September 2026, Etihad will operate the following flights:

  • EY115: Abu Dhabi (02:55) → Palma (08:15) | Tue, Fri, Sun
  • EY116: Palma (10:30) → Abu Dhabi (19:00) | Tue, Fri, Sun

Tickets are available now through etihad.com and the Etihad mobile app.

By adding Palma de Mallorca, Etihad strengthens its presence in Europe and reinforces its strategy of offering passengers not just connectivity, but curated access to the world’s most sought-after destinations.
