Dubai to host Annual Student Art Show 2025

The Annual Student Art Show (ASAS), the region’s largest youth art festival, is set to open its fifth edition in Dubai, celebrating young talent and fostering cross-cultural dialogue through creativity.

Presented by Funun Arts Group and Youth Creative Minds Hub, co-founded by Shiba Khan and Farah Khan, ASAS 2025 will be held with the support of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. The partnership underscores the authority’s ambition to establish the emirate as a global hub for culture, creativity, and talent, while empowering youth and making the arts an integral part of everyday life.

Ambitious edition ahead

Organisers describe this year’s event as the most ambitious to date. With record participation from students across the GCC and beyond, ASAS 2025 will feature a large-scale collaborative art installation and the debut of the “Battle of Brushes – Junior” competition. In the contest, emerging artists will demonstrate their skills in front of a live audience, bringing a competitive edge to the festival.

Running under the theme “WE ARE ONE”, the two-day programme will include live painting sessions, interactive workshops, storytelling, and performances across multiple disciplines. Many of the installations will address themes of unity and sustainability, reflecting the event’s broader message of inclusion, empathy, and harmony.

A platform for youth expression

Since its launch, ASAS has become a vital platform for students to showcase their creativity while connecting with peers from different cultural backgrounds. It provides an open space for dialogue, where individuality is celebrated but collective values remain central.

For young artists, the show also offers exposure to industry professionals, educators, and art enthusiasts, making it a springboard for those aspiring to pursue careers in the creative industries.

Institutional support

Dubai Culture’s backing is seen as a significant milestone in the evolution of ASAS. By aligning with the Authority’s cultural strategy, the event highlights Dubai’s commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening the emirate’s position in the global creative economy.

“The unwavering support of Dubai Culture ensures that ASAS is more than just an art show—it is a movement that unites communities and nurtures future talent,” organisers said.

A community celebration

The festival invites students, parents, teachers, schools, and the wider public to participate. With a vibrant mix of performances, exhibitions, and collaborative projects, ASAS 2025 is expected to reinforce the power of art as a tool for unity and social impact.

For many in the region, it has become an annual celebration of both creativity and community spirit—one that places young people firmly at the centre of Dubai’s cultural renaissance.
