Big-name pop stars and top RnB acts from around the world will be taking to the stage for Yasalam’s Volkswagen Beats on the Beach next month.
Name-dropping crooner Jason Derulo, ‘How We Do’ songbird Rita Ora and Juicy J are just a few of the big names signed up to perform.
Now in its sixth year, the free-to-attend musical festival is being moved to the West Plaza and Lagoon Beach on the Corniche.
Thursday 20th November sees Filipino sensation Charice and rapper Juicy J take to the beach front stage. Arabic singer Chada Hassoun and Moroccan hip-hop artist Two Tone will round out the night.
The following evening sees the ‘Talk Dirty’ chart topping singer/songwriter Jason Derulo paired with fast-talking rapper Bollywood Hard Kaur and local songstrel Ruwaida Mahrooqi, all sure to be a big hit with fans.
Also on Friday, Dubai’s home-grown urban dancers will take to the stage in a battle of moves as part of Closeup’s dance competition. With 20 dancers shortlisted from auditions held throughout the country, the finalists are competing to see who will join the #SYNCDiN Crew. Five final winners will moonwalk away with a cash prize of up to AED 10,000 and a chance to attend a dance workshop in Beirut with choreographer Charles Makriss.
And for the grand finale, the ‘Hot Right Now’ British singer Rita Ora headlines on Saturday 22nd November. Up-and-coming artist Tinashe, dubbed the next Beyoncé, will also perform her hit single ‘2 On’ while Arab fans will be treated to music from Lebanese icon Ragheb Alama and rising star Sabine.
