On November 14th, Ambassador Otto Federico von Feigenblatt, renowned scholar and diplomat, has succeeded by assignation to one of Scotland’s oldest and most distinguished titles of nobility. Established by Crown Charter in 1530 by King James V, the Lordship and Barony of Braemar has been held by some of Great Britain’s most prominent noble families, including Captain Alexander Ramsay of Mar, the only son of Princess Patricia of Connaught.

The caput of the Barony, Braemar Court, is in the heart of Royal Deeside, just a few miles from Balmoral Castle, a residence of the Royal Family. The estate comprises over two hectares of scenic land on the outskirts of the Village of Braemar. The Baron’s principal seat is Everwise Hall in Palm Beach County, Florida.

With extensive experience in diplomacy and academia, Ambassador Otto Federico von Feigenblatt served as United Nations Deputy Ambassador of the International Youth Organization (OIJ) in 2024 and currently serves as the Andean Parliament Special Envoy for Education. The Baron’s academic career includes roles as professor and chair of the Graduate Education Department at Keiser University’s Latin Division and Honorary Professor at the University of Southampton. As the author of over one hundred peer-reviewed articles and several books, the Baron is recognized as one of the most influential scholars in higher education leadership.

The Baron of Braemar is well known in the United Arab Emirates. On the 28th of April 2025, the Baron hosted the House of Feigenblatt Gala at the exclusive Palazzo Versace of Dubai. This important event was attended by over one hundred business leaders and diplomats. Brock Pierce, co-founder of Tether, was one of the guests of honor. Looking ahead, the Baron of Braemar plans to organize an annual Baron of Braemar High-Level Dialogue in Braemar, focusing on sustainable development, natural conservation, and heritage tourism.
