Tawfeer Supermarket has kicked off its Christmas charitable initiative in collaboration with Tamanna, the Lebanese NGO dedicated to granting the wishes of children living with critical illnesses. The programme was announced during a festive gathering on 29 November at Tawfeer’s Tabarja location, attended by Chief Human Resources Officer Fadel Makki representing Chairman & CEO Rami Bitar, Tamanna President Inas Fakhreddine, the Children’s Choir of the Kfaryassin and Adma Parish, as well as invited guests and media representatives.

Throughout the festive period, customers are encouraged to donate $1 or more at checkout to help bring joy to 9 children supported by Tamanna. Tawfeer is also contributing proceeds from a handpicked selection of products, allowing everyday shopping to become a simple yet meaningful way of giving back.

Speaking on behalf of Chairman & CEO Rami Bitar, CHRO Fadel Makki reaffirmed Tawfeer’s values of community engagement, stating: “This initiative reflects what Tawfeer stands for: a local brand that puts people first. Every family that shops with us this season will be helping bring joy and hope to children battling critical illnesses. We are proud to stand alongside Tamanna in making this Christmas more meaningful for these children and their families”.

The event commenced with the official Christmas reveal, featuring the lighting of Tawfeer’s grand festive tree. Guests were then treated to a delightful performance by the Children’s Choir, followed by speeches delivered collaboratively by both Tawfeer and Tamanna officials.

Representing Tamanna, President Inas Fakhreddine highlighted the importance of shared compassion, remarking: “The heart of our mission is to give critically ill children moments of hope that help them continue their fight with strength. Tawfeer’s support, and that of their customers, will allow us to grant 9 beautiful wishes this Christmas. We deeply value this collaboration, which demonstrates how businesses and communities can come together to change lives”.

Each child’s wish tells a unique story – from meeting an admired sports hero to enjoying a family boat ride, discovering travel for the first time, or creating a personal gaming nook. Others hope for medical support that could ease their discomfort. These wishes, though modest, represent profound moments of hope and courage during difficult times.

At a moment when Lebanese families continue to manage economic hardship, collaborations between businesses and NGOs provide crucial support and encouragement for children and their loved ones.

The Christmas initiative will be available in all Tawfeer stores from 1 December until 6 January, offering customers across Lebanon the opportunity to spread joy and hope this holiday season.
