A photo claiming that Lebanese celebrity chef Abir El Saghir had died went viral on social media in the past 24 hours, sparking widespread concern among her millions of followers.

The black-and-white photo, captioned with “RIP” and “Rest in Peace,” alleged that El Saghir had passed away following a severe allergic reaction. The rumor quickly gained traction across platforms and search engines, prompting an outpouring of speculation.

Fans and followers condemned the circulation of the claim, calling it an “ugly rumor” and urging others not to believe unverified information online.

In response, El Saghir herself addressed the controversy, firmly denying the reports and reassuring fans of her wellbeing. “I don’t know who did this, but the post is all over the internet. Not true, fake news. I’m okay and thanks for asking,” she wrote.

El Saghir, who recently celebrated reaching 30 million followers on TikTok and has 17.4 million fans on Instagram, remains one of the most followed chefs in the Arab world.
