The city’s residents recently came together to fly the flag for Abu Dhabi and break the Guiness World Record for ‘The Most People Waving Chequered Flags’. An amazing 258 chequered flags fluttered on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, creating an incredible sight and firing up the city-wide celebrations ahead of the race. The world record attempt was organised by FLASH Entertainment as part of Yasalam 2013 – the largest city-wide entertainment programme run by any race host city – and marked the official opening of the F1 FanZone™ on the Corniche in style.
