Sherine Abdel Wahab ends ties with lawyer Kantoush

Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab has issued a statement clarifying her position on recent controversies, firmly denying rumours of a reunion with her ex-husband Hossam Habib and announcing the end of her relationship with lawyer Yasser Kantoush.

In a post shared on her official social media pages, the star stressed that Kantoush no longer represents her legally and that she has no professional or personal ties with him. “Artist Sherine Abdel Wahab announces to her esteemed fans and the public that Mr. Yasser Kantoush does not legally represent her in any matter, and she has no current relationship with him,” the statement read.

Sherine also assured fans that she remains fully in control of her decisions, noting that her long career has prepared her to face challenges and make independent choices. She warned that she would pursue legal action against those spreading false claims or interfering in her personal life in a way that could harm her or her family.

The clarification comes amid heightened speculation after Kantoush claimed that Sherine had remarried Habib. The lawyer appealed to the Egyptian Minister of Culture, saying the singer was under pressure and needed protection. He alleged that he had sent a team of lawyers to her home, where they encountered Habib, and described Sherine’s behaviour as concerning.

Kantoush further claimed that Habib was subject to ongoing investigations and that the Public Prosecution wanted to question him. He said he had repeatedly advised Sherine to leave Egypt for her own safety.

Habib, however, denied all accusations. He dismissed Kantoush’s remarks as “false and defamatory” and announced his intention to sue the lawyer. Addressing the claims, Habib insisted he had not reconciled with Sherine and rejected the suggestion that he was exerting pressure on her.

The dispute escalated as videos surfaced of Sherine refuting claims of a reunion with Habib and confirming her decision to cut ties with Kantoush. In her official message, she reiterated gratitude to her loyal supporters, calling them her “true strength” throughout her career.

The public reaction has been mixed, with widespread discussion across Egyptian media and social platforms. Some expressed support for Sherine’s attempt to take control of the narrative, while others remained sceptical amid the conflicting claims.

The saga adds another chapter to the turbulent history of Sherine and Habib’s relationship, which has drawn intense scrutiny since their marriage and subsequent divorce. Their disputes have frequently spilled into the public sphere, attracting legal, media, and fan attention.

With her latest statement, Sherine has sought to close the door on speculation by declaring her position directly to her audience. Whether this will stem the tide of rumours remains uncertain, but for now, the singer has made her stance on both Habib and Kantoush unmistakably clear.
