Samsung Electronics has been recognised for outstanding design innovation at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2025, securing two Gold, three Silver, and three Bronze awards, alongside 39 Finalist recognitions.

The IDEA programme, founded by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) in 1980, is among the world’s most prestigious design competitions. Winners are selected across 20 categories including Home, Consumer Technology, and Digital Interaction, with judging criteria spanning Design Innovation, Benefit to User, and Benefit to Society.

Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of Samsung’s Device eXperience Division, said:

“Innovation born from advanced technology and human empathy enriches people’s lives. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology while cultivating meaningful connections that bring us closer to a brighter, more connected future together.”

Gold Awards

Samsung earned the highest honor for:

  • Samsung Mobile Design Visual Identity System – a cohesive design approach that unifies the Galaxy series across devices, packaging, retail and media, communicating the brand’s “Essential” message.
  • Samsung Inclusive Essentials – advanced design concepts for home appliances that improve accessibility for visually impaired and elderly users, integrating tactile, auditory, and visual guidance.

Silver Awards

Three innovations secured Silver:

  • Galaxy Tab S10 Series – AI-enhanced tablets featuring 3D Map View for seamless device management in SmartThings.
  • Samsung Smart Modular House – a future-forward, AI-powered living space concept designed for flexible lifestyles.
  • Digital Twin – an AI-driven b.IoT solution for smart building management, enabling intuitive operations and energy optimisation.

Bronze Awards

Three products earned Bronze recognition:

  • Galaxy S24 FE – a refined smartphone delivering AI photography tools, premium design, and broader accessibility.
  • Samsung Vision AI Onscreen Story – a TV branding project under the theme “Endless Wonder.”
  • EHS MONO Outdoor-Indoor System – a heat pump solution with AI Home integration for convenient energy management.

Finalists

Samsung also celebrated 39 finalist recognitions across its portfolio, including:

  • Galaxy Z Fold6 & Z Flip6 – next-gen foldables blending Galaxy AI with versatile form factors.
  • Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF) – a 4K OLED monitor with AI Upscaling Pro and AVA Pro for optimised entertainment.
  • Bespoke AI Laundry Hub – a stacked washer-dryer with AI touchscreen controls (currently available in Korea).
  • Newfound Equilibrium Exhibition – an exploration of Samsung’s human-centred design philosophy.

The recognition reflects Samsung’s evolving design principles, which place user lifestyles and experiences at the core while marrying advanced technology with meaningful innovation.
