Nissan Expands Zero Gravity Seats Across Models in the Middle East

Nissan is bringing a new level of comfort to its drivers in the Middle East with the expanded rollout of its Zero Gravity Seats—an innovation inspired by NASA’s studies on human posture in space. These seats are designed to reduce driver fatigue, enhance spinal alignment, and ensure a more relaxing experience on every journey.

First launched in the Nissan Altima, Zero Gravity Seats are now featured in more than half of Nissan’s passenger vehicle range in the region. This includes popular models such as the all-new KICKS, X-TRAIL, and Pathfinder. Notably, the all-new Nissan Patrol now includes Zero Gravity Seats across its entire lineup, upgraded with integrated massage functions for added relaxation on city drives, highways, and off-road adventures.

“At Nissan, comfort is more than a feature, it’s fundamental to how we design our vehicles,” said Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President, President – Middle East, KSA, CIS – Nissan & INFINITI. “Zero Gravity Seats underscore our commitment to enhancing the ownership experience by prioritizing comfort and well-being.”

Co-developed with the Yamazaki Laboratory at Japan’s Keio University, the Zero Gravity Seats replicate the neutral posture humans adopt in zero-gravity environments. This design aligns the spine and hips while evenly distributing weight, resulting in reduced pressure on joints and improved circulation—especially beneficial for long drives. The seats incorporate 14 strategic pressure points to relieve tension in the shoulders and lower back, using extensive ergonomic studies and seat simulation technology.

Nissan’s seating strategy caters to different driving experiences. The high-performance Nissan Z offers sports-tuned seats that balance support and comfort on both track and street. The Z NISMO goes further with Recaro® leather-and-Alcantara® bucket seats, combining high-grip bolsters with refined cushioning. Meanwhile, the new Nissan Magnite takes a climate-resilient approach with quilted MODURE leatherette and Heat Guard technology, providing added comfort in high temperatures.

With this expansion, drivers across the Middle East can now enjoy enhanced seating in models like the Altima, KICKS, Pathfinder, X-TRAIL, and Patrol. Whether tackling desert terrain or enduring the summer heat, Nissan continues to reimagine in-cabin comfort—making everyday drives smoother, healthier, and more human-focused.
