The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has announced its role as a major sponsor of the 14th edition of Youth City 2030, further solidifying its commitment to youth empowerment and national development. The collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs places NBB at the forefront of private sector efforts to invest in the future of Bahrain’s young population.

Held under the theme “Beyond Dreams”, Youth City 2030 is a flagship summer programme that equips young Bahrainis with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a changing world. Organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in partnership with Tamkeen, the initiative offers structured training across five areas: science and technology, arts and culture, leadership and entrepreneurship, media and entertainment, and sports and health.

Youth City 2030 targets individuals aged 9 to 35, with both morning and evening sessions available. The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional readiness, offering real-world exposure and fostering creativity, leadership, and collaboration among its participants.

Her Excellency Ms. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, welcomed the sponsorship by NBB, stating it marked a valuable alignment between the Ministry’s objectives and the Bank’s social responsibility efforts.

“This partnership bridges the Ministry’s vision with NBB’s commitment to supporting our youth. The Bank’s contribution to Youth City 2030 adds profound value to the programme, enhancing the quality of its outcomes and helping prepare a new generation of skilled, creative, and competitive professionals.”

The initiative reflects a broader national agenda of investing in youth as a driver of sustainable economic and social development. With its structured curriculum and hands-on approach, Youth City 2030 has become a leading model for capacity building within the region.

Usman Ahmed, Group Chief Executive Officer of NBB, emphasized the Bank’s dedication to empowering future generations.

“We believe that investing in the potential of Bahraini youth is the foundation of national progress. We are proud to support Youth City 2030, which serves as a leading model for comprehensive education and capacity building.”

Ahmed added that the Bank’s involvement is part of a strategic vision to contribute meaningfully to Bahrain’s long-term development, positioning youth as central to the Kingdom’s future.

Youth City 2030 has grown over the years into a well-recognised initiative with widespread participation. It combines educational training with exposure to industry practices, preparing young individuals to take on roles as future professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

With NBB’s support, the programme is expected to scale new heights this year, further enriching the experiences of its participants and reaffirming the importance of public-private partnerships in national capacity-building efforts.
