Huawei has ascended to the top spot in the global wrist-worn device market for the first quarter of 2025, while continuing to dominate the Chinese market, according to new data from International Data Corporation (IDC). The tech giant also surpassed a key milestone with over 200 million cumulative global wearable shipments as of June 5, 2025.

This surge in performance reflects Huawei’s growing momentum in the wearables segment, driven by diversified product lines, robust R&D investment, and a strategic focus on health and fitness innovation.

A Portfolio Built for Every Lifestyle

Huawei’s wearable strategy is built around five key product series designed to meet the distinct needs of users across lifestyle, sport, and health use cases:

  • HUAWEI WATCH Series: Smart lifestyle companions offering features like standalone calling and advanced health monitoring, including the latest WATCH 5 with X-TAP multi-sensing tech.
  • WATCH GT Series: Known for long battery life and stylish design, this series serves users seeking reliable fitness and wellness tracking with professional features.
  • WATCH FIT Series: Focused on lightness and daily wearability, it appeals to casual users prioritizing comfort and essential health tracking.
  • WATCH Ultimate Series: Targeting extreme sports enthusiasts, this rugged series supports advanced modes like deep-sea diving and outdoor expeditions, including golf course mapping.
  • WATCH D Series: A pioneer in wrist-based blood pressure monitoring, WATCH D addresses one of the most critical health challenges globally.

Innovation in Health and Sports Technology

Huawei’s rapid rise in the wearables market is underpinned by ongoing technological advancement. The company operates three dedicated Health Labs globally and collaborates with over ten research institutes to push the boundaries of digital health.

Central to its innovation is the TruSense System, launched in 2024 and upgraded in 2025. The system improves vital sign tracking accuracy and efficiency, offering fingertip SpO2 readings in just 10 seconds and expanding micro-body measurement to 17 indicators.

Huawei now holds nearly 1,000 wearable-related patent applications and collaborates with over 160 global medical institutions on more than 300 health research initiatives. To date, 17 million users have participated in these studies.

Active Rings: A Global Movement for Wellness

Huawei’s community initiatives are also helping to fuel growth. Following the success of its 2023 “Light Up Your Rings” challenge, the 2025 “Active Rings” campaign has engaged millions of users across countries such as Germany, Spain, and China. With over 300 million rings “lit” to date, the initiative inspires daily movement and shared wellness journeys.

The campaign is now expanding into Latin America, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and beyond, helping to position Huawei wearables not only as tech products but as tools for global lifestyle transformation.

As the wearables market evolves, Huawei’s leadership in hardware, software, and user engagement suggests it will remain a major force in the sector for the foreseeable future.
