Elon Musk, CEO of X, SpaceX, Tesla, and Starlink, held talks with the leadership of the BRIDGE Summit during a meeting at Tesla’s headquarters in Palo Alto, California. The discussion explored the future of technology and media, with an invitation extended to Musk to participate in the inaugural BRIDGE Summit, taking place in Abu Dhabi from 8 to 10 December.
The BRIDGE delegation was led by H.E. Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the UAE National Media Office, the UAE Media Council, and BRIDGE. The meeting forms part of BRIDGE’s strategy to deepen partnerships with global innovation hubs and technology leaders, while advancing collaboration between the media industry and advanced technologies.

The talks centred on artificial intelligence, data centres, and content integrity as drivers of transformation. Musk underlined the importance of clean, affordable energy in powering future innovation, highlighting the UAE’s strong positioning in this area. He noted that large-scale data centres will be critical to supporting AI adoption worldwide.
H.E. Al Hamed stressed that the UAE offers a competitive advantage with clean, low-cost energy and significant capacity, reinforcing its ambition to become a leader in AI and advanced technologies.
Praise for UAE’s Vision
Musk commended the UAE’s forward-looking policies under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also praised the contributions of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in establishing the UAE’s reputation as an international innovation hub.
Balancing Innovation and Regulation
During a tour of Tesla’s Optimus robotics lab, both parties discussed the need to balance rapid innovation with ethical regulatory frameworks. They emphasized the importance of building a global framework for responsible AI use in media content creation, regulation, and distribution.
Exploring Areas of Cooperation
Several opportunities for collaboration were identified. These included advancing media and AI innovation, developing educational content to engage young people in science and entrepreneurship, and creating initiatives that link green technology with media storytelling.
H.E. Al Hamed remarked:
“The UAE believes that the media is a powerful force capable of reshaping knowledge and building awareness. Collaboration with leading institutions enables the exchange of expertise, accelerates the adoption of innovative solutions, and delivers tangible, sustainable impact.”
The BRIDGE Summit in Abu Dhabi
The BRIDGE Summit, described as the world’s largest debut gathering for media, content, and entertainment, will bring together global leaders, innovators, and institutions to address challenges and opportunities in the sector. Organisers say it will provide “an exceptional platform for testing bold and unconventional solutions” aimed at rebuilding trust, reshaping the media industry, and defining a shared future.
By engaging global figures such as Elon Musk, the UAE hopes the summit will drive forward a vision of collaboration between media and technology that not only advances innovation but also ensures responsible and sustainable impact.
