Anas Bukhash survives car fire in Dubai

Emirati media figure and presenter Anas Bukhash has revealed how he narrowly escaped death after his car was engulfed in flames in a sudden and devastating fire.

Bukhash, best known for hosting his popular interview series ABtalks, shared the details of the incident on Instagram, where he posted a video and photos of the burnt-out vehicle. The story quickly spread online, drawing widespread reactions from fans, colleagues, and fellow media personalities across the region.

The presenter described the ordeal as both terrifying and extraordinary. He credited “divine providence” and what he called a “technical glitch” for saving his life and that of his team.

“The fire happened strangely. We had finished filming, and while we were saying goodbye to the guests, I heard someone scream, ‘There’s a car on fire,’” Bukhash recalled.

“The strange thing is that I felt it was my car even before I saw it. I walked calmly to make sure, and it was indeed my car.”

Delay that saved lives

According to Bukhash, he and his team were meant to be in the car at the time of the blaze. However, a minor technical problem during filming delayed their departure, sparing them from what could have been a fatal accident.

“If the technical glitch in the recording hadn’t caused the delay, we would have been inside the car when the fire broke out,” he said.

“Even if we had been a few more minutes late, we would have been in the middle of it. Thank God the incident occurred at this time, in this place, and in this manner.”

He explained that construction workers nearby were able to respond immediately, using fire extinguishers on-site to contain the flames before emergency services arrived. Bukhash expressed his gratitude that the fire had erupted in a place where help was available, rather than on a busy road or near his home.

Choosing to share the story

The Emirati host admitted he had initially considered keeping the experience private but decided to share it publicly as a reminder that life is not always defined by perfect moments.

“I wanted to show that life isn’t just about beautiful moments but also includes difficult ones,” Bukhash said in his video message.

In closing, he reassured his audience that he was unharmed and thanked everyone who reached out after the incident.

“Thank God, we are fine and safe. Thank you to everyone who sent me messages to check on me. I apologize if I was unable to respond to some.”

The post has since gone viral, drawing messages of relief, admiration, and support for Bukhash, who has built his reputation on candid and in-depth conversations with some of the Arab world’s most prominent cultural figures.
