  • World-class tennis returns from 31 January to 7 February 2026 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City
  • 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams to compete across eight days of elite action
  • Early ticket buyers entered into a draw for a trip to the Mubadala DC Open 2026

The UAE capital is set to welcome the return of world-class women’s tennis as the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, announces the dates for its highly anticipated fourth edition. The tournament will take place from 31 January to 7 February 2026 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.

Following a record-breaking 2025 event, which saw eight of the world’s top 20 players and thousands of fans attend over eight thrilling days, the 2026 edition promises to deliver even greater excitement, reaffirming Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for top-tier sporting events.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has swiftly risen to become one of the most prestigious stops on the women’s tennis calendar. Offering significant ranking points and drawing a stellar player line-up each year, the tournament continues to attract the sport’s biggest names.

This year’s field will feature 28 singles players and 16 elite doubles teams. The event builds on the momentum of the 2025 edition, where Olympic gold medallist and inaugural champion Belinda Bencic reclaimed her title with a stunning victory over rising star Ashlyn Krueger. In the doubles category, Jelena Ostapenko and Ellen Perez claimed top honours.

Organised in partnership with Mubadala and Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the WTA 500 tournament – part of the Hologic WTA Tour – combines world-class tennis with first-rate entertainment. Over eight days, fans will witness everything from opening qualifiers to the high-stakes finals on Saturday, 7 February.

Adding extra incentive for early supporters, every ticket purchased before the end of November will automatically enter fans into a prize draw to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip for two to the Mubadala DC Open 2026. The package includes return flights, hotel accommodation, and VIP access.

Homaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate & Human Capital Officer for Mubadala Investment Company, said: “For more than 15 years, Mubadala has been proud to champion tennis and bring world-class sporting experiences to the UAE. As a global investor, we are committed to creating long-term value not only in the industries we invest in, but also in the communities we serve. The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open has quickly become one of the most significant sporting events in the UAE, inspiring future talent, and uniting the community.”

His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, added: “This championship has become a highlight of Abu Dhabi’s global sporting calendar, reinforcing the capital’s reputation as an international hub for elite sport. Each year, we continue to build on this success and we are excited to welcome players, fans and families back to Zayed Sports City for another spectacular edition.”

Portia Archer, WTA CEO, commented: “We are thrilled to see the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open return for its fourth edition in 2026. This tournament has quickly earned a place as a favourite stop on the WTA Tour thanks to its excellent organization, enthusiastic crowds and the warm hospitality of Abu Dhabi. The Fan Village at the 2025 tournament was best in class on the tour and we look forward to another fantastic week in the UAE.”

Now firmly established in Abu Dhabi’s annual sporting calendar, the tournament continues to reflect the Emirate’s commitment to hosting premier events with lasting social impact. The Schools Programme will once again engage thousands of students across the capital, promoting youth participation and inspiring future athletes. Emirati women will also play key roles throughout the event, underscoring its dedication to fostering local talent and advancing women’s sport.

Off the court, the Fan Village will return with an immersive experience for spectators of all ages. Visitors can look forward to player meet-and-greets, live music, interactive contests, and a wide variety of dining options.

Children under 12 can attend the first five days of the tournament free of charge, while the opening Saturday will feature open seating and free entry for all. Fans seeking an upgraded experience can take advantage of multi-day passes and Courtside Hospitality packages, offering premium seating, gourmet dining, lounge access, and parking privileges.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open is more than a tournament; it’s an experience, a celebration of tennis, and a source of inspiration for future generations of athletes and fans. Tickets can be purchased now at www.mubadalaabudhabiopen.com
