Rugby rascals give it a try

A new rugby programme for two to seven-year-olds has been set up by Saracen’s Rugby Club here in the capital.

Known as the Little Ruckers, the hour-long class held at Raha International School on Monday evening is an opportunity for youngsters to have a safe and friendly introduction to the ‘gentleman’s’ game. Saracen’s already runs the junior class (seven to 17 years old) but wanted to offer something for the younger age bracket.

In its fourth week now, head coach at Little Ruckers, Steve Evans has been flown over from the UK to help children of the UAE develop their skills as new-found rugby players. And with the size of the classes still growing, Saracens and Little Ruckers are keen to expand even further.

In coming weeks there will be more classes available at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, at 4.30pm and 5.30pm. For more details call: 050 663 8417.
