Superstar songstress Rihanna returns to the capital this month to shine bright for all her fans…

The Barbadian beauty is back, and is tuning up to rock the du Arena on Saturday, 19th October. And there’s no denying that with over 61 million fans on Facebook, right now Rihanna is one of the most talked-about pop stars on the planet.

The Diamond World Tour sees the 25-year-old return to the UAE for the first time since 2009, when she entertained crowds on New Year’s Eve at Emirate’s Palace. And since the ‘good girl gone bad’ left our shores, she’s been a busy, busy girl.

With the release of her ‘Rated R’ album just before her debut UAE concert, which featured tracks from her first album ‘Music of the Sun’, she then quickly went on to release ‘Loud’ in 2010 and ‘Talk That Talk’ in 2011 and her Billboard 200 No. 1 album ‘Unapologetic’ in 2012. All three albums produced classic tracks such as ‘Te Amo’, ‘Rude Boy’ and ‘Only Girl (In the World)’. All of which showcased the diverse music styles of the Caribbean songstress.

Rihanna hasn’t always worked alone; collaboration tracks have also proved to be some of her most successful hits. Most famously was her link-up with Jay Z and their No. 1 selling single, ‘Umbrella’ back in 2007. She has also partnered with Timbaland, will.i.am, Kanye West, T.I and Eminem, all of which have proved to be extremely popular on the international music scene.

The girl from St. Michael, Barbados has also worked with Beyonce Knowles, Mary J Blige and Mariah Carey, when they collectively sang ‘Just Stand Up’ for the charity campaign Stand Up to Cancer. Rihanna also gave $1.75 million in December of 2012 to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados. This so-called diva certainly has a heart too.

So what can fans expect at this month’s show? Well one thing is for sure, Rihanna is a showstopper. She is unpredictable and likes to engage her audience from start to finish. Her latest album ‘Unapologetic’ will certainly feature heavily in this concert, and there is no doubt the crowd will be wowed with some other electrifying tunes. But will there be a performance
of her much talked-about music video ‘Pour It Up’? The music video has reached almost 30 million views on YouTube due to its risqué nature, so who knows what this controversial queen will do!

Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty has continued to dazzle crowds and social media audiences for almost ten years. Her variety of music draws fans from music genres like pop, reggae, rock and dance and thousands are expect to turn out to her du Arena concert to enjoy her eclectic beats.
