The capital will be teeming with tents this summer, as hotels across Abu Dhabi invite you to break your fast, gather with family and friends and enjoy the beauty of Ramadan. Abu Dhabi Week has put together a collection of Ramadan tents that offer some exquisite food and surrounds, which we think are a must-try during the Holy Month

Al Raha Beach Hotel

There are two locations you can experience here. Firstly, Sevilla restaurant. Traditional iftar buffet, along with a sumptuous selection of oriental delicacies will be on offer. Culinary experts will deliver a unique iftar experience with the traditional Ramadan specialities, live cooking stations, freshly baked breads and plenty more. AED 175++.

At Wanasah, guest can relax in this shisha bar and lounge. Authentic Arabic food will be available, along with a variety of shisha flavours, tea, coffee and Ramadan drinks. Private rooms for families and friends can be booked.

Hyatt Capital Gate

Taking place at 18˚ executive sous chef Ivan Musoni will prepare specialities from the Arabic kitchen, alongside signature Eastern Mediterranean dishes, which are mainly inspired from Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. Highlights include lamb ouzi, baked whole halwayo fish, shoukaf (lamb fillet cubes with onion), kabab orfaly (beef and vegetable skewers), Lebanese loubia bil lahmeh (green beans in tomato sauce) and grilled tiger prawns, sumac tomato salsa and green olive aioli. The iftar will also have a great variety of traditional drinks including organic laban, airan, qamar el deen and jellab. AED 180++ per person.

Mafraq Hotel

The best things in life are kept simple. The offerings over at Mafraq Hotel are just that, sticking to traditional foods and drinks for a fantastic price. Your iftar will include all of your much-loved dishes: Arabic mezze, soups and mouthwatering desserts.

Children up to six-years-old eat for free and those from six to 12-years-old will receive a 50 per cent discount. Iftar is also available for takeaway. AED 99 per adult.

Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan 

Gather with your family, friends and colleagues and head over to the newly opened Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan. Guests will be treated to a variety of dishes at Pepper, their all-day dining restaurant. The hotel is in a great location in the city, accessed easily from Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and the downtown area. The buffet is available from sundown to 10.30pm throughout the Holy Month. AED 115 per person. Children under the age of 12 accompanied by a parent dine for free.

Fairmont Bab Al Bahr

A 425 square metre, air conditioned Ramadan tent with perfect views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, has been set up at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. The tent can accommodate up to 200 guests. Senior sous chef Ayoub Makdissi, who specialises in Arabic food, has prepared cuisine from around the Middle East including traditional ouzi lamb carving, dajaj bil laban (chicken with yoghurt) and chicken mossaka (chicken rolls). The tent showcases live Arabic music entertainment every evening, as well a range of shisha offerings. AED 185 per person.

One to One Hotel

For those looking for a buzzing environment and an impressive price to match, then this is the iftar for you. The Village at the One to One Hotel welcomes friends, families and colleagues along to its chilled and inviting iftar. Every night guests can soak up the traditions of Ramadan and even experience a live oud player in the Village Club Extravagant Theatre from 8pm onwards. And it’s all for the fantastic price of AED 110.

Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi

Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi will be hosting diners throughout Ramadan in its expansive Urban Kitchen. Chef Andrea Gerometta, in addition to the favoured Ramadan dishes, will also be preparing Thai specialties for his guests. Make sure that if you do make your way to Urban Kitchen you try out the shawarma cooking station. Hot and jam-packed with all your favourite fillings, these shawarmas are a must-try! AED 150 ++ including Arabic beverages, soft drinks and water. AED 75 ++ for children between six and 12 years old. Complimentary for children of five years of age and below. Group rates are also available from AED 135 ++ for groups between ten to 40 people.

Crowne Plaza Yas Island / du Forum

Fans of Jing Asia will be happy to know that iftar will be served, offering amazing Arabic dishes and some cracking desserts for those of you with a sweet tooth. And what’s even better, every AED 100 you spend you will receive an AED 25 voucher to spend in any of the hotel’s restaurants. AED 170 per person.

The hotel is also supplying food and drink to the du Forum World Cup and Ramadan tent. The impressive facility will not only be showing all the games, but those planning to break their fast in a bustling environment can do so here in this huge venue.

Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi

Head downtown to the ever-popular Garden restaurant at Crowe Plaza Abu Dhabi, Hamdan St, to enjoy an extensive buffet guaranteed to please. Along with friends and family, enjoy the calming surroundings of the restaurant, all while sampling traditional and specially prepared dishes. Like their sister hotel, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi is also offering an AED 25 voucher for every AED 100 spent on iftars.

St. Regis Saadiyat Island 

In partnership with Arabtec, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi invites residents of the capital to their Al Fanous Ramadan tent. Open for both iftar and suhour, this luxurious tent will feature a private entrance with dedicated valet parking. Enjoy iftar, traditional entertainment and some delicious shisha created with fresh fruits. Enjoy a selection of Arabic beverages and local dates to break your fast, before indulging in a sumptuous array of authentic cuisine. AED 185 per person. Groups over 20 persons pay AED 170.

St. Regis Abu Dhabi

In association with National Bank of Abu Dhabi ‘The Grand Night’ Ramadan tent along the beachfront will be one of the capital’s most picturesque iftar and suhour locations. The tent will accommodate up to 800 guests with private majlis areas, along with more intimate areas that include private TV screens. The tent will be at the newly opened Nation Riviera Beach Club. NBAD cardholders will be eligible for a 20 per cent discount. AED 220 ++ per person.

Jumeriah at Etihad Towers

The award-winning Rosewater restaurant and the Layali Al Baraka venue will both be available for iftar. Along with a vast buffet, live cooking stations and a sumptuous seafood grill, guests can also relax to some authentic Arabic sounds. The Layali Al Baraka venue will be set against a backdrop of live oud performances. This will take place under the sparkling Czech crystals of the Oculus art installation on Level P4. AED 175 for Layali Al Baraka and 185 for Rosewater.

Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri

Sofra Bld offers guests an abundant spread of traditional Middle Eastern specialties in the grand iftar buffet, with chefs demonstrating their expertise at the live cooking stations. The buffet is priced at AED 205 ++ per person, including Ramadan beverages, which is available from sunset onwards.

The Pool Bar Gazebo is the ideal setting for intimate gatherings of up to 15 people for a rental fee of AED 2,000. Iftar set menu is then priced at AED 250 ++ per person. Shisha and beverages are charged separately.

Rosewood Abu Dhabi

Head chef of Sambusek, Emad Zalloum, has created an iftar buffet steeped in traditional Lebanese flavours, with a selection of hot and cold mezzeh including hummus akary and fatteh bil laban with meat. Also being served up are scrumptious mains such as the kofta bil sayniyeh and the lamb ouzi with oriental rice, mouth-watering desserts, and traditional refreshments. The iftar buffet is priced at AED 195 ++ per person, with Sambusek welcoming guests from 6.30pm each evening.

AVASA 

Fancy some Indian cuisine for this year’s Ramadan? Make your way to AVASA at The Collection to indulge in some top Indian dishes including samosas, chicken tikka, paneer laalpari and mutton saagwala. Everyday there will be a new menu, which will be prepared in the traditional clay oven including lamb and fish dishes, a variety of hot and crispy Indian breads from the tandoor, curries inspired from the Indian coastal regions, North Indian, Rajasthan and central India. AED 120 ++ per adult and AED 60 ++ per child.

Park Rotana

The Park Rotana will be offering an extensive menu this Ramadan, with impressive prices to make sure your wallets will be as happy as your tummies too. Taking place at Ginger, their all-day dining restaurant, you can tuck in to the mixed grill, dip fresh bread into smooth and creamy hummus, while washing it all down with a Ramadan juice like tamar hindi or karkadeh. AED 170 ++ per person.  The hotel is also offering iftar take away boxes from the ParKafe.
