From time to time we stumble upon a real treasure here in the capital and the new Friday brunch in Noche at the Hilton Capital Grand is one such venue.
Getting the food, drink, atmosphere, setting and price just right is no easy task especially with the amount of competition across the city enticing guests to their premises on a Friday afternoon. However, Noche excels with all the right ingredients for a perfect family brunch.
Seated outside on the terrace, we were treated to a trio of Cuban singers entertaining the adults while a clown whisked the young ones away to the dedicated children’s area for games and face-painting.
One of the concepts of Noche’s brunch is that food is cooked to order, so if there’s a dish that appeals, you can ask the assigned chef and he will prepare your selected item right there and then. And what a selection there is.
If you enjoy your seafood there is a stunning choice of Canadian and Omani lobster, oysters, crab legs and prawns which looked and tasted delicious when paired with the house white on offer. The mixed to order ceviche with baby octopus was exemplary.
The friendly chefs, and there are many of them, offered a spectacular array of dishes including risottos, foie gras, oven-baked fish and Wagyu beef roast dishes. Sorely tempted by the aromas of the BBQ, we opted for the tenderloin and lamb chops that were brought to our table cooked to perfection.
Those with a sweet-tooth certainly won’t be disappointed with the variety and choice on offer – we recommend the liquid nitrogen made ice cream!
If you’re feel like loitering after brunch and enjoying the pool, gardens and views of Sheikh Zayed Mosque you are very welcome to do so. Noche’s brunch may be new on the scene but has already put down a very serious challenge to its competitors as one of the best brunches in the city.
