LG and will.i.am Team Up for Powerful XBOOM Audio

LG Electronics is turning up the volume on its audio line-up with the help of an unlikely but high-profile collaborator — six-time Grammy winner and tech innovator will.i.am. The partnership marks a new chapter in the company’s XBOOM series, as the Black Eyed Peas frontman worked directly with LG’s audio engineers to improve the sound quality and identity across the entire range.

The first product to emerge from this partnership is the XBOOM Stage301, a rugged, portable speaker set to launch next month. Featuring a 120-watt output powered by a 6.5-inch woofer and dual 2.5-inch midrange drivers, the Stage301 aims to deliver rich, balanced sound that’s suited for both indoor and outdoor environments.

“Together, we’ve created something that truly enhances the way people experience music,” said will.i.am, describing the collaboration as more than just an endorsement.

The Stage301 also features enhanced EQ settings, including two bass modes — Deep Bass and Punch Bass — along with a Clear Voice EQ for vocal clarity. It is designed with portability in mind, offering IPX4 water resistance and multiple mounting options, including tripod compatibility. A replaceable battery promises up to 11 hours of continuous playtime.

Adding a visual layer to the audio experience, the Stage301 incorporates dual bar lighting with nine preset lighting modes, allowing users to sync visuals with sound. A companion app enables karaoke and DJ features for those looking to perform, not just play music.

The XBOOM range expands further in July with the introduction of the XBOOM Bounce and XBOOM Grab. Both models include AI sound optimisation and calibration. The Bounce offers a wide soundstage and crisp highs, while the Grab — fitted with a hand strap — is tailored for outdoor use. Their respective battery lives of 30 and 20 hours ensure extended listening on the go, and customisable lighting keeps the vibe alive.

Existing favourites, like the XBOOM XG8 and Rock(XG2), remain part of the lineup. The XG8 delivers deep bass in a portable design with a hybrid strap, while the compact Rock(XG2) is engineered for rugged use without compromising audio quality.

Completing the audio ecosystem are the XBOOM Buds — wireless earbuds equipped with graphene drivers for crystal-clear sound and active noise cancellation. With features like adaptive EQ, LE Audio Auracast support, and multipoint pairing, they are designed for a premium, on-the-go listening experience. An ear hook design ensures a secure fit, and IPX4 water resistance makes them a dependable companion in various conditions.

From party speakers to personal audio, LG’s revamped XBOOM lineup aims to meet the evolving needs of today’s music enthusiasts. To explore the full range, visit LG’s official website.
