If you go down to the woods today…
When five college friends (Connolly, Hemsworth, Hutchison, Kranz and Williams) arrive at a remote forest cabin for a little vacation, little do they expect the horrors that await them.
In typical slasher style, the youths begin to fall victim to backwoods zombies. However, there is another factor at play, and this is where the twist comes – two mad scientists are manipulating the ghoulish goings-on. And even as the body count rises, it soon becomes clear that there is even more to the story than first meets the eye.
From the guys who brought us Buffy the Vampire Slayer, comes The Cabin in the Woods – Joss Whedon’s long-awaited horror-com. And boy, was it worth the wait!
Somehow this movie manages to be both a horror movie and a satire of horror movies – think Scream, just cooler, smarter and more entertaining.
Cut like a fast-paced nightmare, the screenplay is a fantastic combination of witty dialogue and unexpectedly ingenious ideas. We don’t want to spoil anything but keep your eyes peeled for a shocking twist at the end and a quite sensational unbilled cameo.
An entertaining and wholly original genre hybrid film that has more than a few tricks up its sleeves.
