No questions this week, but plenty of answers.
Metallic paper: Several readers recommended Craft Corner – 02 622 2563, located at the Corniche end of Airport Rd near the Central Market development (“best to ring for directions as it is quiet hard to find”). Also nominated: Green Branch on Electra Rd and the book shop at the Al Mina shopping centre near the port, both of which carry a lot of craft supplies.
Boarding pets: In theory boarding facilities are available at the British Veterinary Clinic (02 665 0085), American Veterinary Clinic (02 665 5044) and German Veterinary Clinic (02 556 2024). In practice though their resources are limited and they’ll almost certainly be booked up for the summer. An option might be a pet-sitting service, and we have a couple of suggestions – email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Finding pets: Pam Greer wrote “Reputable pet stores and breeders are rare in Abu Dhabi and many of the animals are not well cared for, unwell and expensive. As a volunteer with Feline Friends I can say that we are always looking for good homes for the many cats that we have available”. Some pets are apparently abandoned by people who are leaving Abu Dhabi, so there are always lots of healthy (and vaccinated) cats and dogs available for adoption. We run a regular Waif of the Week spot in Abu Dhabi Week, of course, and among other sources you can try Feline Friends (050 823 1569, www.felinefriendsuae.com): Strays of Abu Dhabi (050 130 7392, www.straysofabudhabi.com): or the British Veterinary Clinic (02 665 0085).
