Your Abu Dhabi - Nagla Naguib

Nagla Naguib is 35 years old and has lived in Abu Dhabi for just over a year now. She moved from London with her husband, Pablo, when she was six months pregnant. Their lovely baby girl, Nadia, was born on 1st January 2011. She works in the financial industry and her husband is an engineer. Abu Dhabi Week asked Nagla what are the five things she likes best about living in Abu Dhabi.

Travelling

Since we are not far from Africa and Asia, we have had the opportunity to travel around quite a bit. So far this year, we visited our family in Spain and France, but we also travelled around Sri Lanka and the Maldives. We are looking forward to travelling more in the near future.

Lifestyle

The ease and simplicity of life is also very appealing. In the supermarket, you get someone to help you to pack your groceries. If I've forgotten to buy eggs and milk, then from home I can make a call and within five minutes, eggs and milk are delivered to my door step. Amazing!

Kid-friendliness

Abu Dhabi is a child friendly city. All the malls have playgrounds for kids and I love taking my daughter to meet other babies and interact with new mums. We live close to the Corniche and this time of the year, when the weather is fantastic, there are many activities for kids taking place.

Safety

Abu Dhabi is a safe city and we have never felt as safe as we do here. We don’t hear of crimes or vandalism. Being safe, especially when you have kids, is a lovely feeling to have.

Multicultural Society

I am from Djibouti and my husband is from Spain and we both lived in London for a long time. Leaving London, which is a cosmopolitan city, for Abu Dhabi was an easier transition than we thought. We now have friends from the region as well as from Canada, America, Spain, France, Estonia, Pakistan, Somalia, Bulgaria and Brazil, among others.
