Happy birthday!

As the capital gears up for the UAE’s 40th National Day celebrations, we’ve been busy chalking up our own milestone.

Abu Dhabi Week is three years old on Sunday 27th November. It really doesn’t seem like we’ve been around that long. We’ve been having so much fun putting the magazine together each week the time has just flown by.

A few celebratory cupcakes devoured, we sat down and tried to come up with a list of the moments we have cherished over the past three years. I’ve only been with the magazine for 18 months, but for me the biggest thrill has always been speaking to our readers and reading the letters they send me each day – some good, some bad.

There seems to be one constant throughout: a sense of gratitude and celebration at the wonderful multicultural community that we’re fortunate enough to live in. It has certainly made our job a lot easier as each time we reach out to you for comment we’re greeted with enthusiasm and positivity.

This week we chatted to just a few of the people that have helped to build the Emirate – business men and women who have chosen Abu Dhabi as their base. We asked them why Abu Dhabi? Their answers were all similar: the vision of Abu Dhabi’s leaders, the multicultural nature of its society, the quest for quality and a sense of glamour.

We hope you’ve had as much fun reading our mag as we’ve had putting it together! Send us your favourite Abu Dhabi Week memories at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ; we’d love to hear about the stories that have struck a chord with you.
