The first tunnel of the Salam street development has been officially opened, six months ahead of schedule. The 850 m underpass near Khalifa Park is one of four tunnels in the Salam Street 2010 project and will more than double the capacity to an estimated 6,000 vehicles per hour in each direction. Final completion of the whole project is scheduled for August this year.

CONGRTS!! being a long time resident of Abu dhabi its really satisfying to see this sudden spurt in infrastructure and expansion of the city far beyond the eight streets!! without loosing its identity and consideration for the blue collars , like public transport, metro (on the way), WPS system, etc!!
