Abu Dhabi residents looking to travel to Greece and Cyprus will now have more options, with the announcement of more flights from Etihad Airways.

The national airline of the UAE, Etihad Airways is keen to boost both frequency and capacity to the Mediterranean destinations to keep up with demand.

From July 2014, the Abu Dhabi-Athens route will see the addition of three new flights, bringing the grand total to ten flights per week. Etihad Airways will increase its frequency on the Abu Dhabi-Larnaca route from three to five flights per week. The airline is also set to operate Larnaca as a daily service during the peak summer period, from 1st July to 30th September 2014.

“These increases in frequency and capacity demonstrate our commitment to build a global, connected network,” said Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways chief commercial officer.

“In the case of Athens, our new flights will offer guests the choice of two different departure times to and from Abu Dhabi, and in the case of Larnaca, the additional flights will provide more choice and flexibility, as well as better connectivity over Abu Dhabi.”
