The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (PG13) – Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, directed by Marc Webb

Everyone knows the suited, swinging superhero that weaves webs high above New York City keeping its residents from harm. Charming and intelligent, Peter Parker (Garfield) has struggled between his ordinary life and his extraordinary responsibilities as Spider-Man. As much as he enjoys his role and spending time with his sweetheart Gwen Stacy (Stone), Spider-Man is about to be faced with one of his most powerful enemies.

An opening flashback shows the fate of Peter’s parents before they left him in the care of his aunt and uncle. In present day, Peter is graduating from high school feeling more confident with his double life, although Gwen is tiring of his superhero duties.

Peter reconnects with a former classmate, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), son of Oscorp founder, Norman. With his father lying on his deathbed, Harry discovers he too has the disease that is killing the billionaire. As the two friends discover the truth about Peter’s father’s experiments with Oscorp, Harry seeks out Spider-Man to steal his blood and cure his genetic disease.

As symptoms of Harry’s illness begin to make their mark and a new power-eating villain known as Electro (Foxx) threatens the city, Peter and his loved ones face their biggest threat yet.

Expect some thrilling CGI scenes courtesy of the electrifying battles between some of pop culture’s most iconic superheroes and villains.
