We were in the mood to treat ourselves, so we decided to be adventurous and venture a little bit farther than our standard date night dinner and a movie

So we upgraded to VOX GOLD class and we’re so glad we did.

Instead of queuing up for tickets we were lead straight to a special VOX GOLD lounge, to relax in soft leather seats while we ordered from the fantastic menu. Definitely not your typical cinema, the posh lounge was decorated in a stylish black and gold colour palette, with groupings of chairs separated by sheer gold curtains for added privacy and atmosphere.

A quick glance through the menu and we see some rather unique treats you’d expect at a restaurant, but not a cinema. We spy calamari, pastas, gourmet burgers and even salads on offer. But for us, one thing in particular catches our eye – the deluxe nachos. As an attendant takes our order, they manage to talk us into ordering dessert (an ice cream sundae) which will be served after we’ve finished our meal.

Altogether relaxed and so glad to be away from the chaos of the typical queues, we actually enjoy waiting for the film to start. After a while, the attendants start to invite us inside the theatre to be seated and all we can say is wowza!

The intimate viewing theatre had clusters of full size leather armchairs grouped in twos, with small tables placed between them. As we felt a bit chilly, our attendant brought us a soft blanket and with a minor adjustment, we were fully inclined and perfectly positioned to watch our film in comfort.

As the lights dimmed we stretch our legs comfortably and as we watched in awe as our favourite web-slinger saves the city, our attendant reappears with our orders – perfect! Amazing food, wonderfully attentive service and altogether great atmosphere, if you haven’t tried GOLD it’s high time you do!
