Unleash the freak

The Possession – Dir Ole Bornedal, starring Natasha Calis, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick

This horror film tells the terrifying account of a family plagued by an ancient spirit. After moving into a creepy neighbourhood Clyde (Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Sedgwick) try to brush away their daughter Em’s (Calis) strange behaviour on their recent divorce.

However, what they realise all too late is that Em’s slowly becoming obsessed – and possessed – by an antique wooden box that was purchased at a yard sale of said creepy neighbourhood. The box holds an ancient and malicious spirit – the dibbuck – that is out to terrorise her and her entire family.

You’ve got all your essential horror tricks and flicks in this film. The increasingly creepy child and spooky shenanigans (we’ll just say beware the moths!) will keep you jumping in your seats even if the plotline is a bit formulaic. If you’re looking to scare, then this is the ticket. The Possession hits cinemas from Thursday 11th October.
