Understanding justice throughout the emirate has just got easier, with the launch of the first mobile courtroom. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s newest initiative is a mobile courtroom housed in a double decker bus.
The moving courtroom is set to raise awareness about judicial procedures for residents here in Abu Dhabi, and hopes to reduce litigation and confusion regarding the legal system.
The 14 metre-long judicial facility is set to travel across the emirate of Abu Dhabi to visit schools, universities and residential areas to ensure that all members of the public are well informed on judicial procedures.
Inagurated by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace, the bus is the first of its kind.
“The strategy of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department lays stress on the development of judicial and legal services through innovative ways that save the time and efforts of customers,” said HH Sheikh Mansour. He added that the mobile initiative would also provide “its services to all members of the public anytime, anywhere”.
