Your Abu Dhabi - Charlotte Hudson

Charlotte Hudson is a mum of two and has lived in Abu Dhabi for just a year. She moved from Newcastle, England and is currently working as a full time mummy. Abu Dhabi Week asked Charlotte what are the five things she likes best about living in Abu Dhabi.
The child-friendly environment

yourabudhabi

Abu Dhabi has so much to offer children. At school they are meeting so many different people from different backgrounds. They have so many fun activites available not just at the school, but around town. On a Saturday we head to Yas Marina where the girls get a treat and enjoy the weekly family fun day there - they always leave with their faces painted.

IKEA

I know it sounds silly, but I love IKEA. We lived right near one back in England and when we moved here, it was like a little bit of familiarity. Plus I felt like I lived there during the first five months of moving here - trying to get our villa set up.

Shopping

Because I’m a full-time mum it seems to be a talent of mine, I’m an excellent shopper - probably one of the best! Abu Dhabi is great for manageable malls. I like to try a different one each week - because there are so many to chose from.

Weather

The winter months here in Abu Dhabi mean that we can do anything we like with the girls without it being too hot. We can get up in the morning and decide that we will go for a picnic that day. We can go to the pool after school. I can even go for a run without taking my waterproofs.

The Corniche

Of course I have to say the Corniche. We love it there; running, cycling, lazing by the beach and eating the most amazing food … it’s great. No matter what you’re in the mood for, the Corniche has it all. It is easy to get to and great for parking. We especially like it on a Friday morning when it is a little quieter.

Have your say
