Your Abu Dhabi - Peter Samaha

Peter has lived in Abu Dhabi for five years. He moved to Abu Dhabi from London, UK and is working with an Abu Dhabi investment company. Abu Dhabi Week asked Peter what are the five things he likes best about Abu Dhabi.

The food
This is very important! Abu Dhabi has so many excellent restaurants that cater to all sorts of tastes. Despite being a relatively small city, Abu Dhabi has all types of cuisines in all styles – from everyday eating to gourmet dining and Michelin star restaurants, not to mention all the buffets. Whatever you want, you can find it close by. And even better, almost everywhere delivers!

The sun, sea and sand – all year (mostly)!
Of course the weather is wonderful most of the year, and with Abu Dhabi being an island, easy access to the beach is nice – but what’s great about Abu Dhabi is how we can enjoy it! With so many luxury hotels, the beaches are nicely maintained with great facilities. It’s definitely something that is taken for granted, but certainly one of the best things about Abu Dhabi.

The location
Abu Dhabi is perfectly located for travelling to weird and wonderful new places that might have been just too far out of reach from other parts of the globe, and with Abu Dhabi airport so easy to get to it makes travelling a breeze, whether it’s for business or a holiday.

The people
The population of Abu Dhabi is so diverse, you can find almost every nationality here. It is very interesting to be able to meet people from all over the world in one small place like Abu Dhabi. People bring with them their own very different backgrounds, views and experiences and are brought together in this city – it’s fascinating.

The extras
I love all those little things that make it so easy to be lazy. There is valet parking at every hotel, attendants at the petrol stations, take-aways that will take your order and deliver it to your car, grocery stores and corner shops that will bring you a chocolate bar, waiter service at the cinema and even dry cleaning collected from and delivered to your door!
